So, I’m apparently an alcoholic. At least according to an amalgam of sources including the Mayo Clinic.
So I’m once again trying to quit coffee. My doc has been after me to quit for a while. But now I have a bit of a better incentive thanks to my girlfriend, Taylor. 😉
I have a coffee recommendation to write but I’m never near a keyboard when I’m drinking it.
So be satisfied with my newfound fondness of cocktails.
I saw this one on the shelf at Discount Liquor and grabbed it.
What, you didn’t know they made these?
I love baking, but it’s too f-ing hot outside. So, I’ll just live vicariously through this girl.
I haven’t done one of these in a while. Mainly because I’ve been drinking the same old beers. For which I am most displeased with myself.
Just had a fantastic sandwich. Mesquite smoked turkey breast with a bit of honey ham and smoked sharp cheddar on a toasted sweet onion roll. So good, I want to go make another.
I don’t remember the last time I felt this drunk without being incredibly annoyed with the whole process. Actually, I’m not sure I’ve ever felt drunk in this same way. I have fairly good motor control still, but everything is numb and detached. The sore spot on my gum line doesn’t even hurt right now—which frankly, is a bit of a blessing, as that fucker has hurt like hell for a couple days any time I’ve eaten anything. So maybe I’m less drunk, and more having some booze stack with exhaustion. Either way, I’m not minding this nearly as much as anything else.
Shit. Holding my head up doesn’t work any more. And I started spelling “doesn’t” with a “dant”, which is clearly wrong. I think I’m’a stop for the moment.
Everyone is coming to the Funeral and Pizza Party on June 4th at 4 PM at my house, right?
Anyway, here is the list of beers I’ve acquired for the event:
- Mai Bock
- Summer Pils
- Winter Brew
- Black Bavarian
- Hefe Weiss
- Belgian Dubbel
- Abbey Triple
- Black IPA
- Irish Stout
- Generation Porter
- Russian Imperial Stout
- Lump Of Coal Stout (cellared for 6 months)
- Bourbon County (cellared for 6 months)
I also have a bottle of Sprecher 25th Anniversary Kriek Lambic for Chad.
You can sort of tell where my tastes in beer lie from the relative numbers. Though this is sort of skewed – each of the varieties of beer has at least one representative that I enjoy. Though I need to look a bit harder to find light lagers I enjoy; most seem to lack the qualities I most enjoy in beer – sweet malts and crisp, floral hops.
