Christmas Gathering

Since Shadowrun is effectively done for the year and we all has prezzies to give at each other, Chad decided we need to have a Christmas Gathering.  I’ve come up with a list of possible locations:

  • Von Trier
  • Old German Beer Hall
  • Joshenhouse
  • Bjorn House

Any other ideas?

what day were you thinking? also, Von Trier would be best for me because it is closest!

Personally, I’d prefer to head to someone’s house. But that’s me.

Bjorn expressed a similar desire. Which makes sense – bars aren’t exactly the best places to have a Christmas party.

Not unless we buy out the party room.

        • #5 by Chadwick on December 15, 2010 - 8:40 PM

          Lol. Yeah, lesson learned.

Okay. I think we need to just get availability tables for everyone for the time period between now and Jan 14th. If you can’t project that far, at least to the end of the year.

For ease of reference, I think it would be best to get all the schedules in responses to this comment.

      I’ll start.

As soon as I have my car back (roughly tomorrow, I think), I have no time/date restrictions on me, with the exception of Dec 24/25, and/or whenever Christa drags me to her family Christmas.

      • #8 by Christa on December 15, 2010 - 8:57 PM

You’re going to family Christmas? Awesome! I’m free when ever as well.

    • #9 by MHook on December 15, 2010 - 9:37 PM

Aside from christmas, i have no plans, more or less normal work schedule, cept the weeks of christmas and new years have extra off days.

I’m potentially going to be at the farm from the 26th to the 30th. Obviously the 24th/25th are out of the question. The 30th I’m invited to another thing. Then the 31st/1st I’m unavailable too. Any other day works fine.

    • #11 by Phillip on December 15, 2010 - 10:33 PM

I completely forgot, the 22nd doesn’t work either.

  5. #12 by Matt on December 15, 2010 - 10:57 PM

I’m out of town between the 30th and the 2nd (possibly).

I’m free on not the 24th or 25th.

  6. #13 by Joshua on December 16, 2010 - 3:55 PM

I’m generally available after 4:30 on weekdays and free on weekends as long as I have at least two days’ notice. Thursdays aren’t GOOD for me but I can get out of them as long as I have notice.

The 22nd or 23rd work for me after 5

    • #15 by Joshua on December 17, 2010 - 4:57 PM

Well, 22 is a Wednesday and 23 is a Thursday. I’d prefer the 22nd but I can do the 23rd if we make a decision soon. Also, have we figured out where? I know that (a) we don’t like bars and (b) Christa has problems with the smoke in mine house. So… Where we gonna have it?

      • #16 by Joshua on December 17, 2010 - 9:21 PM

I retract that – the 23rd works great. I’d be willing to host again if everyone’s okay with that. After 5 PM work?

        • #17 by VisualHierarchy on December 18, 2010 - 8:56 AM

works for me! oh and i’m inviting my girlfriend stephanie as well, fyi.

      • #18 by Chadwick on December 18, 2010 - 10:24 AM

Okay, so Bjorn said he’s willing to host it, which might make that the ideal location. Closer for Sean, too.

Also, I might suggest that we schedule for the 22nd, with the 23rd as the fallback in case of severe weather.

        • #19 by VisualHierarchy on December 18, 2010 - 10:33 AM

Is it possible to do the 23rd instead? I have plans on the night of the 22nd now.

          • #20 by Chadwick on December 18, 2010 - 11:05 AM

Sean, always full of plans. Alright, 23rd, then.

        • #21 by Joshua on December 18, 2010 - 5:43 PM

          Agreed. The 23rd @ Bjorn’s. What time?

          • #22 by Joshua on December 19, 2010 - 8:22 AM

And what do you want me to bring? I got booze or I can stop at Discount Liquor.

          • #23 by Chadwick on December 19, 2010 - 11:34 AM

Bjorn suggests 4:00 (since of course he works that day). He also volunteered to have a quantity of soda on hand; knowing Bjorn, that probably translates to 2-3 2L bottles of different types. I was thinking of bringing a nice 750ml Kriek Lambic I’ve got, and an irish whiskey that Phil wanted to try. Not sure what we need.

          • #24 by Joshua on December 19, 2010 - 11:44 AM

It doesn’t appear we have any food so I will bring eats. I can bring sausage and cheese and crackers like we had last time. Christa can bring baked goods cause she’s awesome at that. Me not so much. Any other ideas for food and drink?

  8. #25 by Andrew D. on December 19, 2010 - 11:53 AM

I’m not going to be able to make it; I’ve been waiting for my schedule to settle down before I answered, and yeah, I’ll have to see all of you in 2011.

    Have fun, though.

    • #26 by Joshua on December 19, 2010 - 6:20 PM

Aww… Sorry 😦 Is there a better time when just us can get together? And Erin too?

  9. #27 by Matt on December 20, 2010 - 9:20 AM

I’ll be there! If you want me to show up before 4 to help, I’ll be in the area.

  10. #28 by Joshua on December 21, 2010 - 7:44 PM

Can someone give MacKenzie Bjorn’s address and phone number? Thanks!

    • #29 by VisualHierarchy on December 21, 2010 - 8:36 PM

I need this too. I may not make it until 5 or so, but hopefully I will get off early.

  11. #30 by Joshua on December 24, 2010 - 7:54 AM

We thanked everyone for coming. I had a most awesome time and thanks for every the prezzies. Is much appreciate. We will need to do fun things more often now.
