Raw Cookie Dough

I just finished snacking on some cookie dough, and came up with a question. The majority of people I know prefer raw cookie dough, or cake batter, over the finished product. So, why do we bake it? I know the whole egg thing, but beyond that? Why do we ruin perfectly good tasting food and make it taste worse?

      The past couple times I’ve ventured into a grocery store I hadn’t been able to find it. I will continue on this vision, valorously, until the vicissitudes vouchsafe my voracious violation of said ice cream.
