RTC and UTC

Real Time Clocks

Real Time Clocks

So every computer has a Real Time Clock (RTC).  Most real time clocks are set to UTC.  Since RTC is Real Time Clock, UTC must be Unreal Time Clock.  If we set the Real Time Clock to Unreal Time, doesn’t that defeat the purpose?

(Yes, I know that UTC isn’t really an abbreviation but it’s funny to think of a clock with numbers, letters, and fruit and five hands all spinning in different directions and telling us the Unreal Time.)
