Unusual Sight

This morning I saw a CSX train operating on the UP West Allis Industrial Lead.

The power was two 8-axle CSX Locos, one painted in the new blue/yellow CSX colors and the other in the older blue/gray colors.  Both were operating short hood forward.  What struck me was the horn – it sounded very clear and melodic – almost like a trumpet.  It was headed Southbound on track 2 toward UP’s Mitchell Yard (approx. 35th St., between Jackson Park and Lincoln Ave.)

The rolling stock consisted entirely of leased GATX tankers.  I’ve never seen a CSX train operating on the UP mainline before.

Way off of the original topic, but the “Possibly related posts” have absolutely NOTHING to do with this one. Unless your “train” is an euphemism for boobs…boobs with horns that sound like trumpets..

O.O That’s an odd image I just got of boobs with horns that sound like trumpets. And yes. The possibly related posts are, uhh, a bit UNrelated.

Sound like a Monty Python animation sequence.
