Why I go outside

Here’s the first morning glory of the summer. I can’t wait to see more of them.

The Sunday Night Book Review : Orphans of Chaos

Tor is one of my favorite publishing companies. Not only do they publish interesting stories that fall into all of the genres that I love, they also have a great internet presence and understand that if you give me free stuff, I’ll actually buy something once in a while, like e-books. To promote something or other some time ago, I remember Tor started releasing PDF books for free. How could I say no? Then, this Christmas I got a Kindle and was finally able to read those free PDFs because god knows, I’m not staring at a computer screen for that long unless I’m Stumbling.

One of the many books that now live on my Kindle had a cover that caught my attention, and since I always judge books by their covers, I decided to give Orphans of Chaos, by John C. Wright, a chance.

Shorter: Wtf…no like seriously, like what the fuck is going on?

I love baking, but it’s too f-ing hot outside. So, I’ll just live vicariously through this girl.

OMG! That’s my work!

You should all know by now that I spend a good deal of time working on my embroidery. I learn about my craft through looking at other people’s work. My favorite sites include Craftster, Feeling  Stitching, and most of all, mrxstitch. They have cool stuff, and this. Notice anything? That’s right, I made that. That’s my work. And it’s on mrxstitch. FUCKING AWESOME! If you’re too lazy to click the link, this is what I made.

The Quest For Girlyness : Where I’ve Been And Facials

You may have noticed that I have not been posting, at all. There is a good reason for t this, but that good reason also ran out of mileage a few months ago. You may know that I have some anxiety problems, and sometimes, when those problems rear their head, I curl up into a ball and do nothing until I’m sure it’s clear. This time, I’ve decided to actually deal with my anxiety problems. This is working….well it’s more like, it’s almost working. It works in spurts. Working on dealing with my problems is good, but makes me want to stay in a constant state of isolation. I want to avoid everything when I’m trying to not avoid fixing my life. So, like I said, it’s almost working. We’re making progress, and then I feel like the world is ending and hide from the world for a week.

For you all, this means that I have not only not been posting, but I have not been reading. You have been helping me by not posting yourselves. Good for you!

Now that that’s out of the way, I’m sure you’d all love to hear about girl things that I’ve been trying. Read the rest of this entry »

I need a MMO Stat!

So here’s the deal, I’m in a Cultures of Online Gaming class. I’m going to need three online games to play through out the semester. I have no idea what to do because the professor asks that we step out of our comfort box and play something new. I have played a lot of games. List:

World of Warcraft

Star Trek Online

Minecraft

Guild Wars

Second Life (I HATE IT!)

I would like a game that doesn’t suck and doesn’t cost a lot. Text based are okay, but I wouldn’t even know where to start looking.

A Very Girly Tour

Today, I found myself standing in front of an odd little cafe. It seemed very unfinished as it was missing two walls.

The Quest for Girlyness: Makeup Part 1

You may have read that I recently received a massage at Enve. While we were there we saw a sign up for a “Girls Night Out”. It promised to be an entertaining night of makeup demonstrations from the Bare Minerals collection. I had told my mom about my new quest for girlyness, in not so strange of a way, so when she saw the noticed she pointed it at it and said, “This is what you wanted isn’t it? To learn how to put on makeup?” She looked up at the lady behind the desk and told her we were going to show up. I was a little worried, but it is one of the things that I wanted to learn along the way.

So, on to the next adventure: Makeup, Lesson 1 Read the rest of this entry »
