Lodges were anciently dedicated to King Solomon, who was said to be our first Most Excellent Grand Master. But Masons in modern times dedicate theirs to St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist, who were said to have been two eminent Christian patrons of Masonry…

Today is the Feast of St. John the Baptist. Masonic Lodges are dedicated to the Holy Saints John and, together with the Feast of St. John the Evangelist in December, celebrate them, usually with food and drink. Due to scheduling, Lake Lodge is unable to hold a celebration of St. John the Baptist this year. That’s one of the reasons I’m having a Teh Gathering on Saturday.
